Steve Whaley - 318 - "Whales"

Authors note -

As is our tradition, we post the Fraternal remembrances of the deceased first. It’s a Delta Pi page, and it’s dedicated to the memories of our brothers. Please feel free to add your remembrances of “Whales” below in the comments.

I hope many brothers will join me in a contribution to Steve’s kids in his honor. Delta Pi always makes me proud in this regard with our commitment to the phrase, “til ya die”.

Steve was one of my early roommates in apt E. as well as Frawley. Too many good memories of those semesters to do justice to here. From “vote for me, I’m Elwood Harding”. to “Effy” to Whales passing out right in the middle of changing the tv station and spending the night on his face in the middle of the apt. The one-man demolition derby he conducted with his car in the parking lot was a thing of legend.

Over the years, we stayed in touch in that seamless Delta Pi way that might include years-long gaps between conversations. Whales matured and improved with age (Frawley…maybe not so much). As you can read in the obit: Whales went on to represent Delta Pi and his country admirably. He was a good man, who I will miss horribly.

No way Whales could smile, snicker or laugh, and not spread that joy to the room.

Wishing peace to all the 300’s who might have known him well. He was a “one and only” kinda brother.

‘Til we can lift the silver goblet together again, rest in peace Whales.
